We advice to consumer matcha within 2 week after opening it and store it in a cool dry conditions away from strong odours.
The price of matcha reflects the labor and quality of raw materials involved in producing it. In Japan, high-quality matcha is a luxury item, always expensive, but there are many grades of matcha that vary in price as well as quality. Most brands in the market, in order to ensure a consistent taste and high demand, focus on quantity rather that the exceptional quality of the tea, and therefore offer matcha made by blending green tea leaves of several different cultivars, mostly machine-picked from several different locations across Japan - to ensure high volumes and consistent taste. However, this does not ensure good traceability of raw materials or the finest quality.
We offer the highest possible matcha quality, sourced from a single estate in Uji city, Gokasho District knows as the birthplace of matcha. Our matcha is made from a single tea variety - Samidori tea leaves. The leaved are picked only by hands and only in early spring, produced in small batches and freshly milled before each delivery. Our tea farmers have won multiple awards for excellence in matcha production and taste profile.
